Flat Panel Metrology
Defects that affect the viewing and optical performance of the flat panel display
are commonly caused by non-uniform cell gap, resulting in varying thickness of
the liquid crystal layer. A key component to ensuring a uniform cell gap is controlling
tight dimensional tolerances of photo spacers. A manufacturer of flat panel display
inspection system is using the HRT sensor for automated photo spacer height measurement.
This system utilizes Tamar's patented HRT technologies to provide accurate, noncontact
and quantitative surface height measurement with unmatched resolution and precision.
Wafer Bump Height Metrology
The HRT sensor is incorporated into a system that measures the height and coplanarity
of solder and gold bumps. These bumps provide critical wafer level interconnects,
which provide electrical connection between the die from a wafer to the package
or circuit board.
Trench Depth Metrology
Trench depth measurement capability is a key requirement for manufacturing
of MEMS product. The HRT sensor provides cost effective noncontact high-aspect-ratio
trench depth measurement for MEMS wafer that is not attainable with stylus profiler.
